Einstein Club 2007 (GRADES 2 to 7) 17 March Information Sheet

This is an advanced programme for very high achieving candidates. It features a short course in Problem Solving and is modelled along the lines of Professor George Polya's book: How to Solve It. It covers problem solving strategies and emphasises plenty of hands - on problem solving. Grade 12 HG: Calculus 1; Calculus 2; Analytic Geo 1; Analytic Geo 2; Calculus 3; Calculus 4; Analytic Geo 3

Grade 11: Number System; Exponents 1; Exponents 2; Number Patterns; Algebraic Fractions; Quadratics 1

Grade 10: Numbers (Rational/ Irrational); Mathematics of Finance; Factors and Products

These classes are for the benefit of grade 11 and 12 students who are considering studying at a university later especially in disciplines such as Science, Engineering, Medicine, Actuarial Science and Commerce. The programme is best suited to candidates who are already succeeding but who, with a little extra help, have potential to improve. It is not recommended for candidates that are very weak in Mathematics. There are 5 classes: Mathematics 12 HG; Mathematics 12 SG; Physical Science 12; Mathematics 11 HG; Physical Science 11. Click on the numbers below for the appropriate lecture material. This gives only the problems used - the slide shows on the theory will be available to members only in our forthcoming Members Area.

Additional Mathematics

This is an extra subject for matriculation exemption. Candidates accepted into this programme must have either achieved an A or B symbol in grade 11 or 10 in their previous year. There are 4 modules: Mathematics of Finance; Statistics; Calculus 1 (Differential) ; Calculus 2 (Differential and Integral).

SAASTA Mathematics Enrichment Project 2006/7

FET LEVEL
The South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) is currently undertaking a programme to upgrade the skills of mathematics teachers in the Further Education and Training (FET) phase (Grades 10 - 12).

Olympiad Training Programme (Grades 8 - 12)

Suitable for candidates that have enrolled for the South African Mathematics Olympiad or the Mathematics Challenge Grades 8 to 12.
